I'm never wearing my glasses again.
I work with four women who are far, far right Republicans. Our lunch hour consists of watching Fox News. (I'm not going to tell you what I am or where I stand, because I don't like talking politics or religion)
One of the ladies turned to me and said "We have our own Palin right here!" I guess she said that because of my glasses? I definitey don't think I have that "I'm going to pull my hair down, take off my glasses and do a strip tease" look to me. And my glasses are super cute black Nine Wests.
Should I have been insulted? I can't figure it out yet. But I'm definitely not wearing my glasses to work anymore. (besides, I had many kids look at me today and either say, "Why are you wearing glasses?" or "Who are you?")
I'll save them for my hubby. He claims they're sexy. But maybe husbands are supposed to say that kind of stuff.

I'd take it as a compliment. For a woman in her forties who's had that many kids I think she looks great. But in the interest in full disclosure I am a republican, but then again even if she were a democrat I'd still think she'd look great!
it's the dark hair and glasses. I have a friend who gets the same thing all the time...actually, her husband talks about how his wife looks just like Palin all the time!
I am blonde, so even though I've got the sexy (yes, definitely sexy) librarian glasses, I don't get the Palin thing.
But if I did, I would definitely think it was weird...

I think husbands really do love the glasses! Mine always requests that I wear mine. :)
My husband loves my glasses. He regularly requests that I wear them. Last week I wore them to work one day (I usually wear contacts), and got weird looks from people all day. When I finally went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror, I realized that I did look sorta like Palin; my hair color's about the same as hers, and a similar length. So yeah.
