Classy Jacksonville.

I happened upon this blog and now want to meet the person who wrote it. He has found a wonderful way to describe this "town" of Jacksonville that we live in. I especially like how he describes what it's like to drive around here.

And in one of his posts he addresses the horrible bumper sticker/magnet dilemma that has plagued everyone who lives here. I'm not opposed to bumper stickers as a general rule, but it drives me crazy that one feels it necessary to tell the world (or classy Jacksonville as it is) that they love their Marine. Yeah, it's great you love your Marine. But you're not special or unique. This town is Marines. I could understand wanting to show your pride and uniqueness of having and loving a Marine in somewhere like Orlando. But really, it's not necessary to do that here. What people should have are "I'm not affiliated with the Marines in any way" stickers. That would be unique.

Holy shit, that blog post was FUCKING HILARIOUS! OMG! LT and I have made fun of sooooo many dudes in their stupid jacked up muscle cars in Jacksonville. My favorite nickname for them - PFC Numbnuts. Now that's classy!

ROFL....

Ah, yes, J-ville is brimming with class. I kid you not, my first night there, I phoned home to my parents in tears. I begged them to retrieve me from that G-dforsaken place. I felt as though I had been dropped in hell.

While it never did change (to speak of), J-ville grew on me (a teeny tiny bit). I do have some decent memories there, but I think I might have had them no matter what the locale.

Nonetheless, it's not a place I will ever seek out to maintain a residence in. I can't fathom actually living there in around the strip clubs, pool halls, tattoo parlors and everything else that is classy about that place. LOL
