What are five words you really like? Submitted by purplesque. (Vox Question of the Day)
-aficianado I love the way this word sounds, and what it represents. Any time I see a Cigar Aficianado magazine, I get all giddy inside because I am such an aficianado of that word. I once had to write a paper in my high school spanish class about bull fighting, and that is when I truly discovered and owned this word. I love it.
-sleedy not a real word, but one that was accidentally created during a car ride game of Ghost. It can be used to reference a person of bad character, someone who is shady and sleazy. Example: The car salesman is so freaking sleedy.
-pumpernickel I have no connection to this word, I just like the way it sounds, especially when said really fast and with lots of conviction, "Pumpernickel, pumpernickel, pumpernickel!"
-mesopotamia just like the way this one sounds and the fact that it tells a million stories in just 6 syllables
-onomatopoeia another Greek word- I love how exotic it sounds, although it has such a simple meaning... and it's so freaking hard to spell. It's such a complicated word to explain such mundane ones like "moo" and "slurp"
