I always get a little choked up when I hear the national anthem. (I would actually start crying when I heard it during the deployment!) But it really made me feel all warm and fuzzy yesterday when I heard it at the theater on base.
I love traditions. I love the fact that the on-base theaters still make everyone stand up before the movies. As a kid I would go to the post theaters. Even then they played the national anthem before every movie. I don't know how long they've been doing this, but I love that they still do it. It's not one of the many traditions that got lost over time.
I love that as I looked toward the screen to watch the flashing images of Marines hugging families and returning from deployments, I saw many Marines in front of me stand tall and proud.
I also love that we can go see a movie and get a large drink and large popcorn for $6.00. That's less than one ticket off base.
Ah...one of the many things I'll miss if Gorilla decides to not go career.

You want to get your MLS too? That's awesome. I think it'd be a great job. I worked in a library for about a year and loved it.
Love your blog btw. I'm adding it to my daily reads. :)
Can I just say I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about the whole pregnancy issue? Thank you so much for your input on my blog!
I tear up at the national anthem and even sometimes when I see the giant tractor trailers with the Marines on the sides. Esp. when the boys get excited and yell that its daddy....
sniff sniff : )
