the good and bad.

I have not been keeping up with this thing and for so many reasons. Some good, some bad.

I will try to update with more details later, but for now I will start with the good. We sold our house. That in itself is great, but the stress with the time frame (we have to be out of the house by June 12th!) and the fact that the hubby deployed the day after we got the offer is really freaking me out. I'm wrestling with the bureaucratic tape involved with getting the military to come pack out our stuff right now- and let's just say that I'm not the one coming out on top with this. If I can't get them to come before we close on the house- the whole deal may fall through. So keep your fingers crossed.

I just got back today from a friend's wedding in Houston. It was a beautiful wedding but bittersweet because it makes the fourth that my hubby was supposed to be a groomsman. He was greatly missed- so much that he was mentioned in many of the rehearsal dinner speeches and the speech given by the father during the reception. His name was even printed on the wedding programs with a side note about being deployed overseas. Yes, I had to hold back the flood gates a lot this weekend.

The very, very bad news: my husband's grandfather (legal father, he raised him since birth) has a brain tumor that is most likely cancer. In less than a week of finding out this terrible news, he is going to have surgery to attempt to remove it. This news is not easy to handle. Especially with my husband being gone. I had my first encounter with trying to get a Red Cross message sent. I can say that I would never wish this situation on anyone. I don't have enough words or mental capacity to write a lot about the situation right now. I'm still trying to process it and wondering how my husband is handling the news.

So until I can take time to breathe and process all that is happening right now, I will be absent from here for even longer this time. Please keep us in your thoughts...

Keeping you in my prayers, that is such a hard situation! Good luck with everything else! I'm going through a cross country move on my own right now too. Ugh.
