The sad bit is that apparently J'ville has made HUGE improvements in the past 15 years or so. It was Stretch's 1st duty station (yeah, he's old) and he didn't recognize the place when we arrived there in 2007. He said they'd really cleaned the place up since then. I guess there were a lot more tattoo parlors, strip clubs and pawn shops back then.
But I couldn't complain too much, considering we'd been stuck in 29 Palms for 4 years shortly after we got married. The Marines pick some grand places to park themselves, don't they?
