Veterans Day.

Today is Veterans Day. Is there anyone you know who has served or is serving in the military that you'd like to honor today?

Considering my husband and I are military brats, we have many people in our lives worth honoring today. But I'll take this time to say thank you to the most important men in my life. First, my husband who is currently keeping his head up despite a 13 month deployment. He is truly my hero. And it's weird that at just 25 he is now considered a veteran. Most associate the word "veteran" with age. But he is young, and a veteran, and he is MY young veteran, and I love him.

Recognition must go to my dad. This is a picture of him on the last day he ever wore his dress uniform- his retirement ceremony acknowledging 24 years of service. (to include deployments to Saudi AND Iraq) Thanks to him I saw the world. Thank you for all of your hard work dad.

And I must also recognize Tommy's Opa and uncle. His Opa served in Vietnam and retired after well more than 20 years in the Air Force. And to Tommy's uncle Gene- who is currently a Navy cool guy. (I realize that I just represented all branches, excluding CG. You can tell how big an influence the military is in our lives. Not to mention it pays the bills)
Thanks goes to all Veterans, all who serve our country. Despite the situation with our military at present, we all should take time to thank and recognize all veterans, past and present, who have helped shape our country.
Okay, that's my sentimental rant for the month.
